500 youth converged in Cleveland, OH for Midwest Power Shift, October 2011. The conference, planned and facilitated by youth, featured dynamic workshops on climate leadership, activism, and resources, keynote speakers including David Orr, Lois Gibbs, Phil Radford and Rev. David Bullock, and a non-violent direct action in opposition to the proposed Keystone XL pipeline.

The 1990 International Trans-Antarctica Expedition, led by Minnesotan Will Steger, traveled 3,741 miles in seven months, enduring temperatures as low as -54F and winds as high as 100 mph.
