Wild Things Gear

Will Steger is featured in the newly redesigned Wild Things Gear website. Wild Things has been a long time sponsor and manufacture of the Arctic clothing for Will Steger's expeditions.

BIOGRAPHY

2004 Arctic Transect Expedition Leader, polar explorer, writer and lecture, Steger has become a voice calling for understanding and the preservation of the Arctic. Steger has led the most significant feats in dogsled exploration such as the first confirmed dogsled journey to the North Pole without re-supply (1986), the 1,600-mile south-north traverse of Greenland (1988), the historic 3,471-mile International Trans-Antarctica Expedition (1989-90), and the International Arctic Project (1995). Historic feats for which Steger has received numerous honors and recognitions among others include: Explorers Club Finne Ronne Memorial Award (1997), National Geographic Society's First Explorer-In-Residence (1996) and National Geographic Society's John Oliver La Gorce Medal for "accomplishments in geographic exploration, in the sciences, and for public service" (1995).

Jerry Stenger is the Media Development Director for the Will Steger Foundation and videographer for Global Warming 101 Expeditions. First joining Will in 1989 when he was preparing for his International Trans-Antarctica Expedition, Jerry continues to produce, shoot and edit video programming for Steger’s projects. His involvement with each of Will’s successive expeditions has taken him to places such as Siberia, the North Pole, Antarctica and northern Canada.
