Building on Will Steger’s experience as a polar explorer and an eyewitness to climate change, the Will Steger Foundation inspires people to embrace the transition to a low-carbon economy through climate literacy, citizen engagement and international cooperation.

We work with educators (K-12) by developing and supporting them with curriculum, professional development opportunities, and action resources. We work directly with high school and college youth to support student leadership on climate change solutions. We work collaboratively with local, state, and national decision-makers to craft sound energy policy and engage citizens across Minnesota and the Midwest.

Our programs provide authentic eyewitness accounts of climate change and a platform for furthering education, discussion and civic engagement, offering unique opportunities for public interaction.

Our expeditions to the Polar Regions offer a unique view of people and places at the tipping point of climate change.

The Will Steger Foundation supports responsible and sustainable stewardship of our planet by presenting facts in context with the stories and images of the people and places impacted by global warming, and connecting people to people, across the boundaries of nationality and culture.
