Join the Will Steger Foundation, Environment Minnesota and friends for a Green Ideas & Ham Breakfast and discussion of Clean Air, Climate Change and Your Health on June 21st!
As we gear up for long afternoons under blue skies and fresh air, we'll be discussing ways to keep our air clean and healthy for many summers to come.
Polluters and their allies in Congress have been working to weaken the clean air standards that protect our families and our environment, proposing rollbacks that would have a devastating impact on our health and economy. Throughout the spring, Will Steger Foundation has been working with a coalition of advocacy groups at the state and federal level to stop attacks on the Clean Air Act - but we need to get the discussion going here at home to make sure our leaders stand up for clean air. Environment Minnesota has been hosting a monthly Green Ideas & Gan breakfast at the Red Stag Supperclub in NE Minneapolis. Please join us and our partners on June 21st for breakfast and an important conversation.
The threats to our health and environment are big and costly. Ozone smog exacerbates respiratory illnesses, increases the number of hospital visits, and can even lead to premature death among children, seniors and people who work outside. Carbon pollution contributes to climate change and threatens our children's future.
Joining us for this important discussion will be Minnesota Department of Public Health Assistant Commissioner Aggie Leitheiser; State Representative, health care expert and mother of three Erin Murphy; and public health professional and mother of a son with asthma, Shawna Hedlund.
In its first 20 years of existence, the Environmental Protection Agency has saved more than 200,000 lives and prevented millions of asthma attacks, heart problems and other serious illnesses by enforcing the Clean Air Act. That amounts to health savings of $22 trillion – worth of defending, and discussing ways to do so during our last breakfast before summer break!
RSVP and join us for the clean air edition of Green Ideas & Ham at 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 21! Breakfast will be held at the Red Stag Supperclub. Breakfast is $15.
